About Appalachian Builders
Family-owned, East Tennessee-based, and built for the long horizon.
Appalachian Builders is the ground-up construction and luxury custom building arm of Appalachian & Co. — a family enterprise spanning land, building, and (soon) hospitality across the Southern Appalachians.
Our story
From land to lantern light.
Where our parent company shapes the land and holds the long view, Builders is where drawings become dwellings. We started with cabins on hard-to-reach ridges and grew into full custom homes — always in our home region, always with the same crew.
We measure success in the phone calls we still get from owners three, five, ten years after handover. The best compliment is a referral from a family whose home has held up to a decade of mountain seasons.

We deliberately hold a low number of concurrent projects. Senior people, on site, from start to finish.
The land comes first
The site drives the design — grade, drainage, sun path, and old growth. We refuse projects that would damage what they're meant to celebrate.

We're part of a parent company built to last generations. Warranty calls get answered because we're not going anywhere.
